Localizer & Glide Slope Signals
The Localizer operates on VHF (108.10 to 111.95 MHz) to provide centerline guidance. The Glide Slope operates on UHF to project a standard 3-degree descent glide path.
Beam convergence makes indicator needles progressively more sensitive as the aircraft nears the runway threshold.
Flying the Approach & Decision Altitude (DA)
At the published Decision Altitude (DA), if required visual references with the runway environment are not acquired, a missed approach must be initiated immediately without delay.
